Keep Your House Clean

Have you ever walked into a neighbors house by surprise and wondered how on earth their house was spotless. How about Getting a surprise guest and thinking OMG there is a sink full of dishes or why did my kids decided to make a clubhouse in the living room today. Well I have some suggestions What I have been doing lately is everyday at 1 hour before my husband gets off work that's our time to clean up all the toys. A great idea is  planning specific days to clean certain areas . My sister has 1 day a week that is laundry day. That's the normal fact many people have laundry day but what about bathroom day or dining room day. You will never be caught off guard the next time a neighbor appears. I know many of you are thinking (I need to clean all the open areas of my house every day,)straightening up is basic cleaning but when it comes to your say "living room day" that's when you whip out the vacuum, the duster even the carpet cleaner (like me for some of these marks that happen to show up out of no where when you have children.) So pick out what days are specific room days you can also get your older children involved by assigning them a room like hey Boy #1 Friday is your day to clean the kitchen. Youngest baby girl #3 Tuesday is your day to pick up the play room. Have fun with it even get motivational by offering something like hot chocolate after their days work is finished. For me a hot bath after a busy day with a big room like the recreation room or hot coffee after a long workout lol. Have fun and stay organized! :)

Speedy cleaning for pots and pans!

With all this delicious food my sister is posting I figured I would share some ways I speed my cleaning up. I wouldn't say I am a house cleaning connoisseur but everyone who visits always mentions how clean my house is(which is funny because I almost always have dishes in the sink lol) but I am working on that. Any who so I was recently on the phone with my wonderful sister who was needing help to clean out the oven. We all know those ovens can get pretty nasty and when you try to stay as green as possible you get crafty, "for lack of a better word." So While I was telling her I use only soap and water she was astounded... I got questions like..." what about the stuck on stuff??" or "Are you sure you don't use oven cleaner??" My favorite question I get is," Do you do the scary oven cleans itself thing??" That last one scared me half to death the 1st time I did it BTW. Nope I just scrap every thing out with a spatula then sweep it up and clean it out with soap and water. Many people don't think about using a spatula to clean their ovens nor using a mini broom to sweep the counters these are all little tricks I have used for a long time to keep my house spic and span.. So finally POT and PANS! Have you ever scrapped and scrapped and scrapped some more only to end up tired with a half clean scrapped up pan. Or how about dumping a ton of water into that pot to end up with a yucky looking pot in your sink until the stuff in it loosens. No more! The way I clean these icky little messes is by simply heating them on the stove like I am about to cook with them and then wiping them off with a paper towel when they are nice and warm. I saves tons of time and I don't sweat trying to remove grime from my dishes. Btw if you make rice or something else sticky the above method will work though its easy just to rinse them as soon as you are finished cooking with them. Please remember to take care while you are cleaning with hot items and Have Fun!

A "Duggar" dinner

My hubby has made mention to me that he'd like some southern homestyle dinners once in awhile. If you know me, then you know it is super hard for me to stray from healthy. While there are ways to make this dish healthier, that's not quite what he's looking for. I know because I've already tried it :-) So, what's a wife to do? I wanna please my man so here's to a "Duggar dinner", which I will try and incorporate more of these type of meals in my menu.  Duggar Family Blog: Updates and Pictures Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar 19 Kids and Counting: Official Chicken n a Biscuit Recipe: The moment you have all been waiting for!
