birthday idea
This came about so randomly like so many of my ideas. I had to think of something special to give that didnt cost too much and passed some time on his bday in between events.I spoke with family members and gathered some pictures that he didnt have nor remember. I scanned them into the computer added some music and made a slideshow of him for all the family to watch. Its nice because you can make it as long or short as you want it. Have fun and enjoy making special memories.

christmas foodie idea
ok I have to say I was bored and hungry when this came to my mind. popcorn balls or any type of balls for that fact. I started making yummy cheerio balls for my 2 yr old .
( corn syrup-peanut butter-sugar -cherrios) so yummy! with those ingredients you can substitute cheerios with what ever you wish. popcorn, rice krispys ..... have fun with it.
If you have some old popcorn use butter instead of peanut butter and make balls ...so delish. Also I will be adding a pinch a red and green food coloring and making popcorn balls for christmas gifts. They will be nice, simple and inexpensive(my fav.) So get to it and have fun. Don't forget to let your kiddos join in they love to make them but especially to eat them

children snacks
I have to admit I use this for lunch to lol.Im sure some of you have heard of this but it was a first for me and I love it.ANTS ON A LOG. All I do is toast some bread, spread honey and peanut butter on it then top with raisins in a row. I used this for learning to count you could probably also use it for adding and subtracting. I love it because its also great to use when your lil ones dont feel well they will usually still eat this. Have fun and enjoy your ANTS ON A LOG!

jump with Jesus
If you are beginning to bore your kids or just feel like they need a little extra something in their daily activities then try Jump with jesus. Its a great book that I was blessed enough to get from my sister for Christmas. Theb book is flexible enough that you can form it to fit any grade level. I have the prek-3rd grade and I use that for both my 1 yr old son and 9yr old daughter and it great. Just when I start running out of ideas this is a great reminder of all the great and simple things you can do.I also love the fact that it ties in the Word with it if you cant tell by the title lol. Anywho I love the book and believe every household with children should grab it.

diy placemats
This is a fun and easy craft that I was able to do thanks to my sister getting me a lamenator for my birthday. All you do is grab a piece of doodle paper and let the kids go to town, you'll be amazed at how creative they get when you tell them it will be their placemat. When they're all finished add what little details you want and laminate it. If you do not have a lamenator dont fret you can go somewhere that does thats very inexpensive or you can pick a self lamenator at walmart for real cheap that you just press over your artwork. The children love having their own placemats and I love not having to tell them to grab one when they eat. Be creative and have fun. BTW older kids can laminate or help.

new workout
ok I dont know about you,but I tend to have a very hard time getting in a good workout. I have tried everything from downloading workouts on my tablets to trying just playing with the kids. I can never seem to finish when I do it on a tablet, and playing with the kids never gives me the burn I was hoping for. Then I remembered seeing this workout online I relooked it up and yay I found it. Its challenging and the kids think Im playing with them instead of shutting them out to do some video.Dont get me wrong whenever you have time squeeze in a video. If youre up for the challenge here we go....
The 100
100 jumping jacks
90 crunches
80squats
70 leglifts
60 jumping jacks
50 crunches
40 squats
30 leglifts
20 jumping jacks
10 min of running
When its said and done it should take about 20 min. Do 1 workout rightvafter the next. You will really see what needs to be worked on.
You may not be able to do it all the 1 st time but thats what makes a good challenge. I just love the fact that I dont feel like I have to choose kids over exercise or exercise over kids.
have fun!

How To Get More Than 24 Hours Out Of Your Day
Not really! But we really can accomplish more than we think with the 24 hours God has provided. And no, I am not talking about being robots never stopping until our bodies give out on us. I'm talking about being intentional with our time, scheduling our days. If we take a peek at what a day in our lives really look like I'm sure we'll find some time wasters, more than we'd like to admit.
My summers are spent being more carefree, though I do keep to certain things scheduled in my day, like meal times, extracurricular activities & bedtime. The school year becomes a bit more strict but makes a HUGE difference in getting things done.
Here's my school year schedule August through May:
6:30- I wake up, make breakfast & sweet tea for my hubby
7:00- bible study with my mom and sis
8-9-kids up, beds made, small chores, kids & I breakfast together
9-10- Mystery of History (bible history)
10-11-math & English with 6yr old, boys spelling & English
11-12- chores, make lunch, start on dinner
12:00- LUNCH
12:30-1:30 Math with 14yr old, 10yr old art, 6yr old play time
1:30-2:30-math with 10yr old, 14yr old silent reading then piano, 6yr old educational online games
2:30-3:30-unit studies
3:30-4-workout
4- kids free time while I straighten up & finish making dinner
5-dinner time
6-7- my computer time
8- bedtime for all

mommy daughter time!Scrapbook
So my sister and I are determined to take some time out just to do something extra special with our girls.we got together so far we have crocheted, exercised and did some scrapbooking. Mini scrapbooks are great because you can use any left over crafts and it doesn't matter how many photos you have. You can have as little as 2 hence the word mini. You can do whatever you want and remember its about your little girl.Next I think a sweet treat would be good. My daughter loves to help me cook,so grab your oven mitts and lets head to the kitchen. My daughter and I will do muffins with homemade frosting. Sounds messy and fun.

crocheting with our daughters
Learning to crochet is a task my sister and I took on together. needless to say I havent really sat down long enough to see what I know. My sister however jumped right in and is on the road to making beautiful things. I kind of like it because now she can crochet me some things.I cant wait. We decided since we were trying to learn why not incorporate it into mommy daughter time. After all girls tend to want to do whatever mommys doing. Have fun!

Decluttering come to a close!
I am so glad that we did our decluttering challenge!!! I can say it really puts a smile on my face to see a real transformation in only 2 weeks! Like Lane, my daughter and I have really enjoyed this way of cleaning. The before and after pictures definitely
helped ;-)
This week we are moving on and changing focus. We are gonna cut out special mommy/daughter time. I greatly enjoy training up my daughter, knowing one day she will have these memories and will have ahome of her own to keep. Our first task will be to create a mini scrapbook together. Cut out 1 hour just for you and your girl. It is so special to have a daughter. Don't worry we have not left sons out. Their week is coming :-) ~Amy

next declutter any closet last day!
Wow weve been through a lot. Took you through a tour into our homes and I have to say it was well worth it. My husband compliments me everyday about how great the house looks. It makes me feel great to know soon there will not be any spots you have to hide. You know those spots that you casually leave out of the house tour lol. So the bathroom looks great onto the closet. I will be continueing this method of cleaning. My daughter now ask " mommy what dovwe need to clean today?" With excitment she rushes to help me with the task reminding me along the way to take pics .

4 days into Decluttering house
ANY CLOSET OF CHOICE.
This is really motivating me to declutter my house. Its funny how it looks perfectly clean and organized until you redo it and look back at the pictures. My house never looked better and weve just begun. Also its flexible. Take today for instance my sister will be tackling her bedroom closet,I on the other hand will work out my utility closet seeing as that may need a bit more work. Remember even if it clean you can still organize.

New Sign (A great craft)
my sisters church was in need of a new sign for their childrens group. What better opportunity to get the kids involved. She grabbed her arts and crafts box and got on it. The old sign looks good but I believe (dont mind the prejudices due to she my sister) but the new sign looks better. Judge for yourselves.... below is the old sign
Now take look at the new sign by the way she did a front and a back which is nifty cause it doesnt have to lean on anything. Also its nice to have 2 sides because you can see it from both directions. She allowed the children to dip in those hands and get with it.Painting is great for children of all ages from 12 months and older. Have fun

WHOLE FOODS CHALLENGE
Beginning June 1st, I (Amy) , am challenging you to begin eating a whole foods, all-natural diet. Don't be scared! Pull up a trash can and throw out that junk that is silently harming you and your family. If it's processed or white get it out!!!! I know you're thinking she's gone mad and besides that where are we to get the money for this?!?!? Well, I have NOT gone completely crazy; as wives and mothers we have a responsibility to care for our homes and the people in them & we all know that whole foods keep us healthier. I love the saying, "If it doesn't grow from the ground or doesn't have a mother then don't eat it." Also, each week we will post an inexpensive whole foods recipe that can be enjoyed by the whole family.
Happy Eating!

valu-pak indian hat
I love but hate receiving those valu pak coupons in the mail. The nifty little over stuffed blue envelope filled with coupons, that you cant wait to delve into. When its said and done you have wasted quite a bit of time for only a couple good coupons that you could probably live without. So as a grab my stack of precut coupons to toss them away only to get a new blue envelope with the same. I thought "what a waste." I dont know why I thought feathers at that moment(craft mom mindset) but I did. I stacked them up and cut the 1 feather cut for who knows how many feathers. I made a paper headband and let my son color it then glue the " feathers" to the headband. We then sat and watched a bit of Pocahontas so he would understand it. He loved it and it gave us a way to recycle all that paper.

Learning to crochet
This is not a tutorial! My sister and I have decided to try something new and surprisingly we don't know how to crochet. so we are bucking down and going for it alone. Using what resources we can conjure youtube, online, books ect. wish us luck we will track it all on the blog but I can say we both know some basic things. So #1 learn the lingo,we cant follow instructions if we cant read them lol.
Here we go, a cool crochet abbreviation chart I hope it helps if you're following along.
